GQ UK: We were speaking to Yohan Blake recently, and he was saying that the reason that you do all the grandstanding at the line is not because of confidence, but because you’re trying to hide the nervousness. Is that true?

Usain Bolt: That can’t be me! I’m never nervous unless I’m not in shape. Me doing what I do is because the fans love it and it’s a part of me, it’s my personality. I think people come to see you run fast, but they also come to see a show, a performance. They want to see a personality, and that’s what I give them. Nervousness, no. Maybe for him, but not for me!

GQ talks to Usain Bolt ahead of the IAAF World Championships. Other tidbits from the interview: Bolt likes to close out his DJ sets with “One Love” by Bob Marley and he’d like to learn how to breakdance. Too bad MTV is making “Made” anymore, that’d be perfect! (via olympics365)
